A bit of a tease...

I just very randomly came across some photos I didn't know (remember??) existed of my ceramics. I'm afraid the stoneware hand-thrown pieces are the one and onlys in the world, which I'm not so keen on parting with, (although many people have said they would buy them). So...just a bit of a tease to put them on here, to show you my wares, just in case one day, dreams come true and I can purrrrchase a wheel and get back to it and spread my mug love about.

Christmasings & Boxingwings

 We had made a good few bottles of Elderberry and Blackberry gin back in September. And thought it was time to crack a bottle, what with it being time to eat and drink and be very merry. It made me very happy as it gave me the opportunity to use my French vintage glass decanter...

It went down a little too well... may be time to open the second bottle.

 And even though it's not very seasonal, eggy bread does makes a jolly good ol' breakfast and goes down pretty well in my house. Especially with a combination of cinnamon and sugar and grilled bananas, making the sugar and cinnamon caramelise together into yumminess.

I know...it looks quite charred...but it was very good.

 A good couple of months ago I made a range of porcelain dishes in celadon blue and an earthenware crackle glaze. There's a whole bundle upstairs. I'm not quite so sure what to do with them all. I took inspiration from wabi sabi and so the slightly uneven and organic shaped edges are intentional. I have a few of them scattered around the house and use them all for different purposes. One sits in the kitchen with garlic cloves sitting in it. Another is sat upon my drawers filled with jewellery. And the celadon ones would make lovely soap dishes. 

I can feel a shop on the way...

 It does get me very excited when I can use my own ceramics around my house. I must find a way to make more again. Anyone want to donate a wheel, kiln, plaster and slip to me? Or a ceramic studio all for me?

My handthrown stoneware pot came in useful for cranberry sauce for Christmas lunch.
