Hello, I must be going...

... I cannot stay, I came to say, I must be going... I'm glad I came, but just the same, I must be going...

And really I must. There's no choice in the matter. I'm off to lands that no longer exist. Dedicated to all my lovely twitwits out there, you're going to be missed. A Thrifty Mrs for her impeccable thrifting and adventures, The Round Window for thoroughly entertaining me with hilarious oddities, Luliemma for just being plain silly when so needed, Flopsydaisy for beautiful vintage finds and positive inspiration, ThisGirl_is for being a proper real humble gal with immaculate advice, Rabbit Portal for making me go, "blummin' 'eck" and "oooooerrrr" at how amazing his illustrations are, Teasemade for being the worlds best hand stitcher which makes me go, "how? ... how is this possible? how did she do that?!" and of course to Etsy & Folksy for introducing me to so many amazing artists/designer/makers and making things possible.

That's right, the land of the no internet/laptop for nine whole days.

So then... I have decided, in my holiday away from technology (damn not having two computers and Mr going away to work with the only one... damn damn!) I shall be eating plenty of these...

Can't get enough of the stuff!

Making lots more of these...

Cake tier stand for all those sweet goodies

And these...

The Owl Family

Whilst drinking lots of tea from this...

The best teapot, cups & saucers in the world, that I hinted my bro-in-law bought the Mr for his birthday from a chazza for 4 squid!!

And watching lots of this...

Which is exactly the song that has been going around and around in my head all day. Could ya tell??!

AND possibly attempting more things like this...

Loving my new pack of colourful fine liners... but not loving these as much... just yet... definitely a WIP

Well, I'm going to miss you all (I've probably missed some of my best and most favourite twitwits off my list, but it is 2.19am...) Dedicated?? Nope... just plain stupid and addicted. Hook, line and sinker.

Plus I just ***HAD*** to get one more post up before I endure cold turkey, surely??!

And anyhow... I have been making this little short, this evening ... for this with more info on my submission right about............................................... here.

So, wish me luck!! And to those oh-so-wonderful twitwits, do say hello & pass by while I'm away & give the blog a little dusting over (And...RTs) if poss! :~}

I'm very contactable by @ing me through twitter (clever mobile phone, that sends tweets straight to it! Who'da thought?!) however, I'll be completely blind to all the conversations/tweet streams (as it's not really that clever, as it won't let me onto twitter!). It would be lovely to hear from you though!

So... Au revoir, tatty bye, see you later alligator and bonne nuit.

Winter Blues

I thought it was quite appropriate to have a title like this, around this time of year. Christmas is over, monies all spent and everyone's a little bit fatter. On the other hand...the real reason I wanted to use it was, as this week everything's been coming in blue.

Firstly (and most excitingly) I finally got the new desk I was very much looking forward to. Aaaaah a place to work, not exactly a workshop, but a child-free, clutter free (for how long??) space all of my own to make and create (hopefully in peace!).

At first the lovely 60s blue table looked a bit lonely and bleak...

And as it seems...things come in three (as they say) and so blue things come in three too...

Not only did I find a fab blue desk at the huge vintage/antique/junk shop...I found this high waisted skirt in my size, with BLUE strawberries!! How exciting!

And last but not least, I was on the look out for more kitchenware and dishes to make another readymade cake tier tray/stand. And of course...it had to be blue...

It's still a work in progress as I'm not entirely sure about the top piece, but all will be glued ever so well. Loving the pale blue teacups though.

So...new desk in place, I got a little excited to fill it with some of my ceramics and odd bits of things I've made over the years.

Just for a bit of personal inspiration...

Selection of purses I made last year... really need to fix my sewing machine and get another pedal!

I love this mustard.

I know it's not exactly something I've made...or...hang on...it is!! It's a ceramic replication of French's Mustard. Nah, I'm lying. I just love it so much, I've been eating it on pretty much everything and has such a pickly lovely scrummy flavour, that I thought it definitely deserved a place on my blog. Plus, the colours just look really good with the new blue desk. AND I discovered it when with our good friends from Sound Art Radio at their fantastic Halloween event, Fete Worse Than Death when I tucked into one too many veggie hotdogs.

Not 100% complete Penny Farthing Man, shadow puppet.

I've also recently been working on a project with Ergo Phizmiz. I've been animating and making shadow puppets. You can view more on the piece at 'Fulcanelli's Shoes'.

Marlene wanted to get in on the action, upon my desk...

You must look here at this... Through The Round Window A lovely lady by the name of Flora makes these wonderful, colourful stained glass items.

I love 'em

These egg men all have magnificent names too...

And lastly...another friend by the name of Rosalind creates these one off treasures, that are rather appealing at Rhen Designs

This one's my favourite

And this is pretty special too!
Ah, time to put kinder eggs in bed before my head explodes...
