Making masks for The Third Policeman

Today was very exciting!! I made a massive head, from clay, a bike helmet, some chicken wire and Bridport's finest news. It was so nice working with clay again. Was like I was at home once again! I think I made a most embarrassing sound of relief when I first put my hands into the clay... erm...

We've decided that Mr Phizmiz would get on with the video this time round and I would concentrate on the masks, costumes and set design. As recently I've had far too many things to think about, as has he too!

With the help of a very kind friend, who is a brilliant wax work maker and with the help of his skills and knowledge, this is what we got up to today...

To make the correct shape we filled the chicken wire with newspaper.
Checking how big it looks...

Putting clay onto the chicken wire
Once the whole thing was covered in clay it was time to create the features...

We were going for the whole bum chin and bulbous look...
Next up will be making a plaster mould of the whole thing. Then, when the mould is dry we will be able to make the masks and paint them!

More soon!
